Jordan Chiles and Simone Biles are those two individuals who have brought a ton of spotlight to Team USA with their incredible performances on major stages. While their contribution to the sport of gymnastics is great, the moment they are shown on the cameras of different sporting events, eventually they garner a lot of hate from the internet for literally no reason.
Surely, the fans want more screen time, showcasing the official game, but flaming the gymnasts who have done a lot for their country out there is completely not appreciated. However, the behavior of sports fans continues to remain unchanged, as Biles received a lot of internet hate while she attended a recent NFL game, which was something of a similar situation that her fellow gymnast Chiles had to suffer a few days ago.

Whenever these professional gymnasts have presented their country on international stages, like the World Championships or the Olympic Games, they have received nothing but cheers from the people who support them. Surely, there are their critics out there, but they are made silent by the impressive performances of these remarkable sportswomen. However, receiving hate for just attending an event of a different sport is just not justified.
During last weekend’s Sunday Night Football, Jordan Chiles visited the SoFi Stadium to watch her home team, the Los Angeles Rams, face off against the Philadelphia Eagles. The official NFL social media handle also posted about this visit, showcasing the dashing outfit of the gymnast, who was looking really happy to attend an SNF game that had a ton of anticipation.
Surely, Chiles was happy to be present at the venue, but the NFL fans weren’t happy or ready to acknowledge the presence of the gymnast in the game. The hate on the internet was enormous, with many statements that could be hurtful for Chiles, who’s already going through a lot this year. The same behavior was again shown by NFL fans the moment Simone Biles was featured on an X post of the NFL.
The G.O.A.T. of gymnastics is always ready to hop into any of her husband Jonathan Owen’s games the moment she gets the chance. This time, she attended the Thanksgiving match between the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions, which is currently taking place at Ford Field in Michigan. Even though it’s not the home game of the Bears, Biles just wanted to watch her husband play on a wonderful day.

On a chilly Detroit morning, the gymnast was seen wearing a white beanie with a white shirt and jeans. But, to counter the cold weather, she was also wearing an NFL jacket. Surely, the picture carried nothing but a big smile from the Olympian herself, but despite being happy about her presence in the stadium, the NFL fans weren’t a happy bunch on the social media post.

A rude NFL audience against Simone Biles
It didn’t take long for the X post featuring Simone Biles to garner attention online, so NFL fans flamed her with negative remarks. One fan stated “I don’t care.” One made an absurd statement about Jonathan Owens, stating, “Stealing her poor husband’s spotlight.” While another fan stated, “We get it. She’s married to one of the players. We don’t need an announcement every game.”
Whenever there’s a person like Biles or any big celebrity in the stadium, the cameras always point towards them. But what can they do? Their accolades speak for their spotlight! However, NFL fans don’t want the stars to steal all the spotlight from the participating football players. The fiasco is no new thing, as it has happened a lot of times on different occasions with different celebrities investing their precious off-time to attend such enormous events, just to receive undeserved hate from the fanbase.

“Ooooh yay. She does flips once every fuckin’ four years. Nobody cares about the Olympics,” one fan wrote, while another added, stating, “Who gives a s***.” Another fan also added, “No one cares. You guys need to stop with showing players significant others. None of your dedicated fans want to see them… ever on the screen. Get it through you heads.”
There’ve been multiple instances when sports like gymnastics have been predicted just to happen around the Olympic Games; however, that’s completely not the case. Surely, the Olympics might be the top priority of these gymnasts, but there are a lot more events that happen between the two games. The ignorant nature of fans before commenting on something harsh is heartbreaking, but people tend to have a ton of different opinions on these world-class athletes, and even the rudest comments don’t bother Biles or Chiles much, as they know how to silence their haters, which they almost do every time they arrive on the mat.
