Texas Longhorns’ happy times with their signal-caller Quinn Ewers are over. Looks like the QB has already attracted some bad juju now that he is struggling with a bad ankle injury. And that’s some bad news for the Longhorns HC Steve Sarkisian. But at the same time, Texas A&M HC Mike Elko can start taking notes now that they are all set for the Week 14 SEC finale against the Texas Longhorns. But where to look for the notes to keep showering some more pain on Ewers? For that, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are going to help out Elko. Now that Ewers goes all wobbly with his feats (also feet), the CFB insider has some advice for Sarkisian, and it definitely does not look good for the QB.
Even though November 23 came with a big 31-14 win over the Kentucky Wildcats, as a parting gift, they gave the Longhorns a costly setback as Ewers suffered an ankle injury. While Sarkisian looked positive about the QB’s return from injury, he’s still listed as ‘probable.’ That’s an absolute WIN-WIN situation for Elko’s boys since even if he returns, his power will be stunted. On that note, on the On3 podcast, with host J.D.PicKell, guest of the evening, college football analyst Aaron Murray had some advice for Sarkisian, but maybe Elko might want to consider Murray’s words, too. He started by pinpointing the real issue with the QB—“For Texas it’s it’s the health of Quinn Ewers. It’s the mobility of Quinn Ewers.”

Now, right at the moment, since the signal-caller is not fit to play, Elko can just take a look into Smart’s playbook. As Murray suggested, “He struggles going against great defensive line. Go back to the Georgia game when defensive lineman can just tee off on Quinn Ewers and not have to worry about.” Well, it’s true. The QB fell prey to the injury when he got tackled by the Wildcats defensive lineman Deone Walker. Now knowing this would definitely leave Sarkisian in a pool of cold sweat.
The analyst had already alarmed them beforehand since Elko’s army has the privilege of boasting one of the best defensive lines in college football. That’s what the Texas A&M HC can count on—“their recipe to having success against this Texas offense.” Knowing all this, will Sarkisian still take a chance with Ewers?

Quinn Ewers’ durability concerns and the domino effect
Well, we must say that Sarkisian is one lucky coach. After all, if his Plan A fails, his Plan B is ready. So now that a critical matchup is lined up, PicKell believes that the HC must “empty the clip” and add 19-year-old Arch Manning’s skill set to the playbook. But mind you, he is not getting too harsh on Ewers.
“I’m not saying bench Ewers but give Arch a role—design quarterback runs, read options, and even a few passing plays. It’s about adding another layer to the offense and unlocking Texas’ full potential,” suggested PicKell. Yes, it’s now Sarkisian’s task to make the tough call, as the analyst stated, “It’s not time to go home with plays in the playbook or bullets in the chamber like you empty the clip and I think emptying the clip is getting Arch in the football game…” Well, that’s something that might resolve the issue for now. But what about Ewers’ long-run goals?

Now that Quinn Ewers’ potential is plagued by durability concerns, he might be a “draft steal” not on day one but on day two. As easy as the 24 hours might sound, it will come at a price. Roughly around $25 to $30 million difference. It’s now on the quarterback to eliminate flaws and keep his paycheck fat!
