“I can’t go back and I will move forward. I am beyond grateful to my family, friends and supporters all over the world who have stayed by my side. That’s it. No more,” Conor McGregor came up with a fresh message on X after losing the case Nikita Hand had lodged against him. He also revealed, “instructed my legal team to appeal the decision.” But the former dual-weight champion will not get everyone beside him moving forward. In fact, that is a significant part of his associations.

Reports have come out that major retailers all across the United Kingdom and Ireland have been ordered by their head offices to stop selling any alcoholic drink associated with Conor McGregor. Some of the big names that have raised such circulars across the country are Tesco, Supervalu, SPAR, Centra, and Costcutter.

In a statement released by Musgrave, they added that aim to sever every tie with McGregor. “Musgrave can confirm these products are no longer available to our store network,” read the statement. For the unversed, Musgrave is the parent company for SuperValu, Centra, Daybreak, and Mace.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “We can confirm that we are removing Proper No Twelve Whiskey from sale in Tesco stores and online.” On the other hand, a spokesperson for BWG Group said: “The products are no longer listed for distribution across our network of Spar, Eurospar, Mace, Londis and XL stores, including Appleby Westward which operates over 300 Spar stores in the southwest of England.” Other retail outlets including Costcutter and Carry Out, will also stop stocking products linked to McGregor.

In fact, Proper Twelve, on Wednesday morning, announced that they will no longer use McGegor’s “name and likeness” to market the drink. The whisky company was the most lucrative and prominent of McGregor’s business interests, having been one of the founders of the company in 2018.

McGregor and some of his business partners sold a massive stake in the Proper 12 whiskey to alcohol giant Proximo Spirits in 2021 for around $600 million. According to the reports, McGregor’s stake in the company was worth a massive $130 million when it was sold. The Irishman remained the ambassador for the product as he endorsed the product day and night. However, it appears that the decision has now backfired on him.

“Since 2021, Proximo Spirits has been the 100pc owner of Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey. Going forward, we do not plan to use Mr. McGregor’s name and likeness in the marketing of the brand,” Proximo Spirits said in a statement. This can significantly harm his staggering $200m net worth. Notably, McGregor last year said his total earnings as an athlete totaled “about $650 million.” In fact, the stoppage of sales of the beverage has reached beyond the retailers.

DAA, the operator of Dublin and Cork airports, confirmed it no longer sells whiskey brand Proper No. Twelve or Forged Irish Stout at duty-free shops at either airport. “DAA can confirm that Proper No. Twelve whiskey was removed from sale in both Dublin and Cork airports over the weekend. We can confirm that none of the bars in Dublin or Cork airports sell either Proper No 12 or Forged Irish Stout,” DAA media relations manager Graeme McQueen said.

McGregor has been the face of the Forged Irish Stout, which he has promoted with Australian former world champion Ebanie Bridges. Bridges was also an official ambassador for Proper Twelve and has been pictured with McGregor holding the products in viral photos. Not only in the alcohol industry, but McGregor’s image has also taken a hit elsewhere as well.

Scully Fitness, a gym based in Annaghdown, Co Galway, posted a video on social media on Tuesday showing a mural of McGregor inside the gym being painted over. In addition to this, Hitman: Wo͏r͏͏l͏d͏͏ of Ass͏as͏͏sination’s Danish developer and publisher, IO Interactive, have asserted that they would remove every content related to McGregor from their game. He has been featured in several video games, including voice-acting a character bearing his likeness in downloadable content in the Hitman series. McGregor’s character is featured as a target for the player-controlled assassin in the game.

“In light of the recent court ruling regarding Conor McGregor, IO Interactive has made the decision to cease its collaboration with the athlete, effective immediately. We take this matter very seriously and cannot ignore its implications. Consequently, we will begin removing all content featuring Mr. McGregor from our storefronts starting today,” wrote the official representative of IO. It seems like McGregor’s entire world has come crashing down but one person continues to stand by him through thick and thin.

Dee Devlin comes in support of Conor McGregor amidst the fiasco

Conor McGregor has been charged to pay $260,000 for damages in a civil assault case brought up against him by Nikita Hand. With the verdict coming to light, the Irishman has come under fire from all quarters. McGregor has already proclaimed his intentions to file an appeal in a higher court. Nevertheless, sympathy is not easy to come by for the UFC star currently. The entire world appears to be against the former UFC lightweight champion. Amidst the chaos, the only person who stands with him is his fiancee, Dee Devlin.

“Imagine a WOMAN, with her own boyfriend and child, texting provocative pictures of herself to another woman’s man with a family and child on the way… Whilst on a 3-day bender, texting excuses to her own child at home… all the while out of her face in a hotel room, dancing around a hotel car park. What sort of WOMAN are you!!!. “My sons will be warned women like you exist in the world,” Conor McGregor’s fiancee stated on Instagram

D͏ee D͏evlin also cautioned Nikita Hand about the consequences following McGre͏gor’s͏ anno͏uncement that he would appeal the verdict. Her despair became evident as she added, “CCTV DOES NOT LIE. I look forward the day the world will see the footage of you on that night and the carry on of you… To me, it looks like everyone is trying to get away from you.” Problems are just mounting for the 36-year-old.
