Former five-division champion Floyd Mayweather is the gold standard when it comes to boxing. The man retired from the sport never knowing defeat, and made a lot of money in the process. However, now it’s a different era, with influencer boxers like Jake Paul, who have taken over the scene, with mega bouts, which broke even Floyd’s records.
‘Money’ Mayweather’s May 2015 fight against Manny Pacquiao was his and the sports’ most watched fight for a long time, with a reported 4.6 million pay-per-view buys. In fact, even in the second position, it’s Floyd’s bout against Conor McGregor in 2017, with a reported 4.3 million pay-per-view buys.
However, ‘The Problem Child’ broke this record on November 15th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with his fight against legendary Mike Tyson, live on Netflix. The bout reportedly had a peak viewership of a whopping 65 million. There’s a debate to be had about the difference between a PPV fight and a nearly free fight.

Regardless, people were bound to make comparisons. This happened during the latest episode of The PorterWay Podcast hosted by former world champion Shawn Porter, featuring comedian Mike P and actor Scruncho. While discussing Jake Paul and his fight against Mike Tyson earlier this month, Mike P recollected an incident involving Floyd Mayweather.

“I done see Floyd in the street though,” Mike P recollected. When a podcast participant asked if he meant Mayweather was brawling on the streets, the comedian nodded and added, “[Fighting people] way bigger than Jake Paul.” It’s worth noting that ‘El Gallo’ climbed to heavyweight for his bout against Tyson.
Nonetheless, Mike P continued, “Back in the day, we used to be out here, active, bruh.” While the revelation was interesting enough for fans, things quickly took a comedic turn when the comedian was asked, “What you do, you jump in?” With a smirk, Mike P responded, “No, I was watching,” as the room burst into laughter.
Since the street fight, Floyd Mayweather and Mike Tyson have been in the same conversation, the 58-year-old has revealed who would win in a street fight between him and Floyd.

“I think I would really kick Floyd’s a** in a street fight. It wouldn’t even be a match,” Tyson said confidently. However, if the situation was modified to make the fight even for both guys, Tyson believed Mayweather would get the upper hand. “But probably if I was his size in the ring, he would outpoint me. He has a really good technique for his style.”
All said and done, Mayweather’s aide presented an interesting story to fans, which was previously unknown. However, it would be interesting to see what a 47-year-old Floyd Mayweather can do against Jake Paul. Would you like to see that blockbuster fight?
