The fans across the globe celebrated the great season of the Spanish player. He has now announced his participation at the upcoming Hero Dubai Desert Classic 2025 teeing off at the Emirates Golf Club from January 16-19. ‘Rahmbo’ had success in Dubai at the DP World Tour Championships in 2017, 2019, and 2022. He won the DP World Tour 10 times as of now along with ‌22 professional wins.

Rahm will now be extending his career, debuting on the Hero Dubai Desert Classic 2025. As his campaign for the 2025 Ryder Cup begins with the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, he will be playing alongside the defending champion Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood. As soon as the post confirming Rahm’s entry was out on the official Instagram page of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. It was filled with both positive and negative reactions. With the fans’ responses being a mixed bag, it is tough to conclude whether the fans are happy or angry about his entry.

One fan praised his decision and commented on the post: “elevates the poor field of the last 2 years” Another influencer with more than 2.2 million followers also praised his decision by commenting, “What a great addition 🏆🏆”. As there weren’t many big names participating in the tournament the past two years, hence it is justified that Jon Rahm will indeed be a great addition to this year’s competition.

On the other side, a fan chooses humor to react to his decision. For which he commented, “I thought he and the rest of those on LIV wanted to play less golf?” Some fans disagree and are upset at his decision to participate in the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. Another fan also commented, “No LIV players on DPWT please!!!😡” LIV Golf follows a shorter format, i.e. 54 holes in three rounds as compared to the DP World Tour, which follows 72 holes in four rounds. This leads to most LIV players craving more competition which can be found in the DPWT or PGA.

While some fans got into a debate in the comments section. One said, “The money fixed LIV players should not play in DPW tournaments!” Replying to the comment other stated, “Why? The DP World Tour is unfortunately going down the drain. Rahm is a mega upgrade for any tour. Grow up my friend.” Well the DP World Tour is certainly losing out in its viewership, so it actually might be favorable for famous LIV players like Rahm to make an appearance. But as all know the merger deal has not yet been carried out which means the unification of the golf world is still not seen with approving eyes by everyone. This makes sense for one side of the fan base to disapprove of the participation of LIV players in this event.

However, despite it all, it would be a great sight for the fans to witness Rahmbo in action at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic 2025. After all, it is his debut in the event. He will be aiming to have a great season, similar to 2024. What do you think about the decision of Jon Rahm? And what is your prediction for the coming season?
