Serena Williams’ adorable daughter Olympia is known for her love of food – especialy pancakes. That’s the reason why Alexis Ohanian keeps giving her a pancake treat every weekend. His inner artist and chef always tries to bring a smile on Olympia’s face with unique pancake art. At the same time, he also knows that he’s not the best chef when it comes to making near-perfect, delicious pancakes for his daughter. But he’s not shy when it comes to accepting his lack of ‘Pancake expertise’.

Alexis took to his Instagram and shared a video in which he’s going all out on pancake-making procedures. He told how he tries to create captivating art for Olympia through ‘Papa Pancakes’, but they don’t really turn out to be amazing. He revealed that “they are not the best possible tasting pancakes.” But why? “Part of it’s the consistency. To make them in the squeeze bottle, to make the art I want them to make, they can’t be too fluffy. Because as they expand, they start to distort the image. So basically the pancake batter that I make doesn’t taste great. It tastes fine. Olympia doesn’t know any better. She just thinks that’s what pancakes look and taste like,” said Ohanian in the clip, dated November 27th.

Then he mentioned the most important aspect of his pancake ritual which keeps him going to get better at being a pro. He revealed that Olympia has actually begin taking interest in his pancake art lately. This reason alone has now motivated him “to be the best pancake artist I can.” Adding further, he even said that “If she shows an interest, I’m becoming the expert” at making really good pancake art.

While he wants to make Olympia happy with his creativity, there’s another reason why he started the Papa Pancake ritual in the first place!

When Alex Ohanian revealed his true intentions behind Papa Pancakes while getting appreciation from Serena Williams

Last week, Serena and Alex were involved in a candid discussion on Lingo’s Spike Sessions. While talking about various topics like family bonding sessions and parental duties, Alex also mentioned intriguing details behind the tradition of Papa Pancakes. When asked about the family’s go-to weekend breakfast food, Ohanian revealed how he used pancake art as a tool for educating daughter Olympia. “When Olympia was little and couldn’t really speak, I’d make alphabet letters in the pancakes for every letter in her name. I can’t take all the credit for her learning to read, but pancakes definitely played a part,” he said.

Backing his husband and his sweet initiative, Serena Williams gave a huge thumbs up. “Papa pancakes feeds and teaches you how to read”,  she said. But Olympia isn’t the only one now to be a part of this tradition. Her younger sister, Adira, was also welcomed into the ritual just last weekend. Earlier this month, Alex shared a picture on his Instagram story showing Adira enjoying his home-made pancakes. On the other hand, Olympia was shown being a part of the entire process.

In other words, Papa Pancakes has become the best way to bond between the father and daughters. Isn’t it an adorable gesture from Alexis for Olympia and Adira? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
