After a dominant win against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Phoenix Suns gained surreal confidence. Their three talismans took to the court together and led a surgical attack to cut through their rivals. Tonight though, the Brooklyn Nets, a team that is making a fast rise in the league decimated them.

Already having beat teams such as the Kings and the Warriors over the week, this marked the third straight win for Brooklyn. They had to survive a combined 60 points from Devin Booker and Kevin Durant. However, they dodged the fluent offense of Bradley Beal in the clutch. The former Wizards star exited the game after stepping on someone’s foot twice, leading to discomfort.

According to Duane Rankin, Mike Budenholzer didn’t have an update on his star. Beal had only just returned from a left calf strain against the Lakers. The dynamic guard had a decent game against the Nets, scoring 17 points in his 27 minutes of play. But without his presence in the clutch, the KD-Book duo was left to absorb the defensive pressure all alone.

Then there was also Dennis Schroder, the veteran point guard who has dictated the pace for this young Nets team. His hot streak continued, as he scored 29 points to go with three assists. Tyrese Martin, a guard on a two-way contract had his highlight game, scoring a team-high 30 points off the bench for Brooklyn.

The bench differential served as a core catalyst behind their win over the rejuvenated Suns team. Nevertheless, now all the attention turns to the availability of Beal as they look to sustain their scintillating start.

Will Bradley Beal miss more time with this injury?

There was one major error that curtailed Phoenix’s chances last season. More than lacking a true point guard, their trio simply couldn’t stay healthy. Beal only played 53 games. Even this year, he has had to deal with a range of injuries, the calf strain being the latest. However, after missing five games, has tonight’s incident re-aggravated his injury?

Beal didn’t seem in great discomfort when speaking after the game. Having felt the pain after ‘tweaking’ his ankle, Beal opted for some damage control. “I tweaked my ankle at the end of the game. Calf was getting a little tight. Kind of expected that on a back-to-back, but I was just being a little smart about it at the end,” he told reporters.

Currently, Beal is part of the lineup for the Suns that averages the most points. Not only that, but with him, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant on the floor, the Suns have only lost one of their nine games with them. Given the appropriate rest, he decided to give his ankles, it doesn’t seem like Bradley Beal will need to miss games.

The concerns will undoubtedly be there. Since it occurred on the left side again, the Suns will take the appropriate precautions and conduct tests. The hope will be that it’s nothing major. Because of Kevin Durant’s absence, the Suns severely slipped down the rankings, this being their seventh loss in the last nine games.

They need to bounce back, which requires their entire cavalry to remain healthy. Fortunately, Beal will have time to rest for a few days before the Suns have to face a tenacious Golden State Warriors team who are also itching to regain their momentum. Big games await, and Bradley Beal holds significant influence on how the Suns’ season could potentially look moving forward.
