People have been clamoring all over the internet to know about Jarred Vanderbilt’s romantic life for some time now. Since joining the NBA, and especially with the Los Angeles Lakers, he’s been under the public’s watchful eye. But despite the fame, Vanderbilt has kept his personal life a mystery. But why? Well, now we do not know why, but now it’s time to answer the elephant in the room.
Is he dating anyone? Well, the answer is straight. At the moment, he remains single. For someone in the media spotlight, it’s rare to find someone so committed to privacy. Despite the media’s constant focus on athletes’ relationships, Jarred has remained silent and out of the public eye about this matter. No rumors are swirling around him, nor any hints on his social media that suggest a special someone in his life. Not even his social media handle gives a hint.
It’s surprising, right? In a time where many celebrities share the tiniest details of their lives, the hooper’s choice to remain tight-lipped about his personal life is almost unheard of these days. One can think whatever they want to, but he’s focused on what’s most important to him right now: his career. After all, he’s proving his value to the Lakers with his stellar defense and hustle on the court, helping his team aim for another championship.
So, will he eventually let the world in on that side of him? Well, now we have no answer to that, but with that, let’s look into what his journey with the Lakers has to say!
Vanderbilt and the Los Angeles Lakers journey so far
On February 9, 2023, the Lakers and Jarred Vanderbilt’s journey began. In a shrewd piece of business, he was involved in a three-team deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, so far, this journey has been one of uncertainty. The third day after the trade, he debuted in the Laker’s no. 2 jersey against the Golden State Warriors in a thrilling 109-103 win, contributing 12 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
With this, the hooper quickly made his name with the Lakers as he became one of their key players for tenacity and the ability to guard multiple positions. His hustle was exactly what the Lakers needed to complement their star power. The Lakers saw enough promise before the 2023-2024 season approached as they put up a nice contract for the player. To secure him for a period of four years, they tied him up to a $48 million contract extension with a player option in the final year signed between him and the team. The deal was a clear vote of confidence in his future with the team.

Vanderbilt’s first season with the Lakers culminated in a significant victory when the team won the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament on December 9, 2023. It was a great milestone for the young forward and a sign of the team’s potential. He was so versatile with the Lakers that it made Dallas Mavs HC Jason Kidd say, “Vanderbilt kicked our a**.” He led his team with a 27-point comeback victory over the Mavs. However, his journey with the Lakers turned upside down in February 2024.
A turn that changes this journey. But how? So here it is, against the Boston Celtics, when he was guarding Jayson Tatum, he injured his foot and as a result, this made him miss the rest of the 2023-2024 season.

Since then, he has been on rest and is yet to suit up for the 2024-25 season. The Lakers head coach JJ Redick has an update. “He’s progressing. He’s had some minor discomfort. No setbacks. I think the discomfort is normal as he has ramped up his activities on the court, given that he’s coming off two surgeries. He’s progressing, but I don’t think he’s a day or two away from playing. We’ll have another update in a week or so,” JJ said.
As of now, he being sidelined, has left the fans wondering: how long until he’s back on the court? Do let us know your view in the comment section below.
