NASCAR drivers have many unique hobbies. For example, two-time Cup Series champion Tony Stewart holds a passion for deer hunting. Then Danica Patrick is a sommelier expert outside the racetrack – she owns her own wine company. 2024 NASCAR Cup champion Joey Logano has a collection of vintage cars, including a 1924 Model T and a 1970s Suburban. However, Logano’s own son has a hobby that trumps the uniqueness of all those mentioned.
The Team Penske driver and his wife Brittany Baca achieved milestones quite like the racetrack. Joey Logano clinched championships in even years – 2018, 2022, and 2024. His children – two boys and one girl – also came into the world in even years (2018, 2020, and 2022). Each was unique in their own way, although Logano confessed that one was totally different from him.

After attaining three Cup Series championships, Joey Logano is happy to spend more time with his family. He married his high school sweetheart a decade ago in 2014. Since then, they have done many things together. Being a University of North Carolina graduate, Baca works as the secretary and vice chairperson for the Joey Logano Foundation. Then the duo purchased a $3.6 million dollar house in Cornelius back in 2014. However, their highest achievement would be welcoming three beautiful children.
One of them amazes Joey Logano the most, for cultivating a jaw-dropping hobby. Jameson is Logano’s middle child, to whom Brittany Baca gave birth in 2020. However, in the short time since his arrival, Jameson has already established a ‘reptilian’ fascination – although that is not shared with his dad. In a recent interview with Kenny Wallace, Logano confessed his child’s hobby. “My middle child Jameson, he’s the turtle kid. Reptiles, turtles, like you name an animal – that’s his thing. Couldn’t be more different than me, I hate all that stuff. But it’s pushing me a little out of my comfort zone, that’s good.”

Contrary to Jameson’s love for the animal world, Joey Logano‘s eldest son is into cars just like his daddy. But his daughter probably keeps them under control with her authority. Two-year-old Emilia Love was born in 2022, and she is already becoming a fierce force to reckon with. Logano said, “Then Emilia, she’s my favorite. I mean, that’s the bottom line. She’s the little girl of the family… she’s going to be spoiled. She is spoiled. The boys fight for her affection – so do I. We love her. She’s only two, so we don’t know what quite she’s gonna be like, but we know that she’s getting a little sass already. So here we go!”

While all three continue to mesmerize the proud dad, he is concerned about one of them.

Well, being the son of a three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion can have caveats. Joey Logano’s eldest son, Hudson, is all about cars. Even while Logano was speaking with Wallace, he confessed that Hudson was in his race shop, working on his RC car. He is a master pilot of a four-wheeler in the family backyard and has also dipped his toes into quarter-midget racing. However, Hudson’s Team Penske racer dad approaches this situation with caution. “You know what I don’t want though? I don’t want him to… be held at a different standard,” Logano said to Wallace.

Ultimately, there have been instances where the children have been expected to carry forward the family name. For instance, Thad Moffitt is 200-time race winner Richard Petty’s grandson – but lacks the same prowess as his legendary grandfather. So Joey Logano does not want Hudson to feel that pressure. “We raced out in Millbridge a couple of times and they introduced him as ‘Joey Logano’s kid, Hudson’… I didn’t have to go through that… I’m six years old, I’m having fun, that’s all it’s about. I don’t want it to be so serious already”
Evidently, Joey Logano is nurturing every hobby his children may have with care. As Hudson grows up, let us see if he follows in his father’s footsteps or not.
