The Cowboys performance under their new head coach under extensive and hard-end training reflected their season-opening victory of 38-6 and 36-3 scores.

Killing it off strong, the Cowboys wrestling team’s victorious start is a mere trial of the amount of dominance the head coach can bring out to its players. While carrying forward this drive, the head coach went forward with his support for his team out in public on their upcoming match. Setting down a request for OSU fans, David Taylor pens down a heartfelt comment for the team’s first home game. “Go Pokes! Looking forward to seeing everyone back in Gallagher on Sunday. We dual Arizona State at 1.” The comment, however, concerns the Cowboy’s upcoming scheduled game against Wyoming, followed by Arizona. But for David Taylor, the experience comes as a first home-ground match as the OSU Cowboys head coach.

Cowboys’ largest home-opening crowd

Starting with two banging performances of the season, David Taylor’s OSU team is now set forward with their next two matches of the month. Thanks to David Taylor’s plea, the Friday match against Wyoming saw the largest crowd of the home opening after 21 years at Gallagher-Iba Arena, with 6,781 people in attendance. However, with home support, the Cowboys stood out victorious yet again with their impressive feat.

For head coach Taylor, coming as a first, the moment was quite surreal. Crediting fans’ support, the head coach vented his experience on the amount of support shown towards Oklahoma State. “I think people want to see fun wrestling, and they want to cheer and believe in something. I think you can cheer and believe in Oklahoma State wrestling. It was a lot of fun tonight.”

Having extending out his excitement in public, the Cowboy’s performance came quite commendable in their home ground. However, giving their fans a reason to continue forward with the belief, the win against Wyoming came in as a highlight. The support also comes as an extension to their new head coach, David Taylor, without whom the win was impossible.

OSU Cowboys duel against Wyoming

For OSU, the home game came as a blockbuster one. While setting off a 32-6 victory against Wyoming, OSU’s performance saw an improvement in its record, coming to 3-0 along with a 2-0 lead in the conference duals gameplay. On the other hand, for Wyoming, the loss came as a first in the season. Having secured 106 team points for the team, the Cowboys took away 8 wins out of the 10 matches, leaving two for the opponent with 25 individual bouts secured.

However, stealing the show, OSU star Troy Spratley’s takedown with 10 seconds remaining came as the highest of his career and a comeback win for the team with a 7-4 lead. Other stellar performances from the OSU team came from Reece Witcraft securing the pace with 11-3. Tagen Jamison’s two takedowns led forward, securing three more points for the team.
