The Lions are gearing up to host the Bears, and honestly, it’s starting to feel like the Kings of the Jungle are about to add another W to their collection. I mean, we’re talking about a 10-1 powerhouse facing off against a 4-7 team that’s been limping through the season. And now, to make things even tougher for Chicago, Detroit just got a turbo boost in their offense. David Montgomery and Amon-Ra St. Brown? Both are active… Uh-Oh!
That’s like handing the Lions a cheat code mid-season. As NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported: “#Lions RB David Montgomery and WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, both listed as questionable, are officially active against the #Bears.” Translation? Ford Field might not be so kind to them this week.

Gearing up for Thanksgiving football couldn’t have gotten any better. St. Brown’s knee injury had fans holding their breath, but it seems he’s good to go after being a full participant in practice on Wednesday.
Head coach Dan Campbell gave a reassuring update earlier in the week, saying, “Yeah, I feel pretty good about Saint, actually. Well, I’ll know more today.” Montgomery, meanwhile, is back from a shoulder issue, and you just know he’s got something to prove against his old squad. Revenge game vibes, anyone? Serve it, right up…
The timing couldn’t be better for Detroit. As if this Lions’ offense did not already look pretty fierce. Sure, Chicago’s defense has talent. But will it be enough to slow down a motivated Montgomery or the ever-reliable St. Brown? That’s a tall order.

If you’re a Lions fan, you already know how important Amon-Ra St. Brown is to the O. With 71 catches, 747 yards, and nine touchdowns in 11 games, the man’s stats read like something out of Madden. “I feel good,” St. Brown recently said about his status ahead of the Bears clash.
And that’s a blessing in disguise not only for Detroit but for his QB Jared Goff as well. I mean, he has been the go-to weapon, hauling in 71 of Goff’s 85 targets this season. That’s what you call unfair coverage problems for opposing defenses.
But St. Brown’s story isn’t just about highlight reels and broken records (though, let’s not forget, he was the youngest Lion to hit 1,000 yards in a season). It’s also about grit, roots, and a whole lot of swagger. Named after the Egyptian god of the sun, Amon-Ra has brought the heat since stepping onto the NFL stage. The perfect breathing example of the phrase: “Rolling since Day 1!”

Here’s the kicker: as good as St. Brown is, football isn’t a one-man show. Sure, the Lions just handed him a shiny four-year, $120 million extension, but for Detroit to keep climbing, they’ll need a balanced squad around their “Sun God.” The good news? With St. Brown back into the mix… The Lions can look beyond the playoffs. Ahem, the ring? Maybe, just maybe, this could be their strongest chance to do so.
