It was a little less than three years ago in December. Stephen Curry raised his arms in jubilation after breaking through Ray Allen’s three-point record. From that moment, he became the undisputed three-point king. Now, another modern-era legend, James Harden has the opportunity to repeat his feat, standing just 3 triples away from being second on the list of all-time perimeter shots made.

Naturally, his next target is Curry. Most would think, but The Beard knows better. Curry just doesn’t belong in the realm of normality.

“Listen, I’m going to consider myself number one. Steph don’t count,” the Clippers’ effervescent guard happily conceded. Naturally, given the gap the Baby Face Assassin has created since becoming the all-time leader in triple, it’s hard to fathom anybody catching up.

At 35 years old, though, James Harden is on the cusp of making history. Once revered as an unconscious scorer, James Harden flourished into an MVP when playing for the Houston Rockets. Tonight, he has the chance to etch his name into the history books against the very franchise where he made unprecedented history. Coming into the game, the Beard has made at least 3 triples in each of the last two games. Maybe today is the night Harden does make history, to then be trailing only Stephen Curry.

NBA fans empathize with James Harden as he’s now competing with ‘God’

It’s not just James Harden that doesn’t consider Stephen Curry human. While NBA fans can be against the Beard at times, here, even they understood his perspective. “Steph in a league of his own, James would be #1 amongst the mortals,” a fan said about the same. And well, why wouldn’t they?

In those three years since passing Ray Allen, Curry sits at 3,779 threes made, 806 clear of the former leader! The Chef has attained mastery that is simply beyond comprehension at this point. Regardless, James Harden being second is a testament to his consistency and diligence toward the game. Stephen Curry is just too far to catch.

What’s your perspective on:

Is James Harden the greatest three-point shooter among mortals, with Curry in a league of his own?

Have an interesting take?

A fan perfectly captured that sentiment. “Curry can’t be in that list, he is the three-point,” they mentioned. Although the two-time MVP is 26 threes behind the current leader for the 2024-25 season, Anthony Edwards, he has played 4 fewer games. It’s an average of nearly 7 threes that Stephen Curry will have to make. But with him, that possibility can’t be discarded!

It doesn’t take anything away from James Harden’s sharpness from the spot. A career 36.3% shooter, the Beard, has gone through a transition from being a Sixth Man to the most lethal scorer on the floor. And the community made sure to give him his flowers.

“Prime harden was the best offensive player of all time,” one comment read.

Most of Harden’s 3-pointers came with the Rockets- the hoopster made 2,029! In Houston, the Beard made the All-Star team 8 times before moving to Brooklyn and sinking 198 deep rangers. He’s already made 219 for the LA Clippers, where he’s begun his 2nd season.

Still, when it comes to shooting, no other name other than Stephen Curry jumps to mind. Over the years, he and James Harden had epic battles, pushing each other to the brink. However, in the talks of making a 3, “Curry is and will unfortunately be the greatest shooter of all time,” a fan articulated, summing it all up.
