The Timberwolves and the Rockets have surprised everyone this season. But for two completely different reasons! After their historic run last year, Anthony Edwards and Co. are barely staying afloat with an 8-8 record and are eleventh in the West. Meanwhile, the Rockets are off to a hot start and are among the top three teams in their conference. And their paths will cross tonight as they face each other in an NBA Cup encounter. Unfortunately, both teams could be missing some key players due to injury concerns.
Well, Mike Conley could miss his third straight as he is questionable with a toe sprain. Sure enough, the veteran guard’s absence has hurt the Wolves as they have lost both of their last two games. Although Conley’s numbers have dropped significantly this season to 7.5 points and less than five assists, he remains a key part of the lineup.
Another addition is Joe Ingles, who is questionable with a calf issue. However, his final status is unlikely to have much impact as he has not been a major part of Chris Finch’s rotation. In fact, Ingles has not scored a single point so far in seven appearances.

Obviously, Jalen Green’s health is the biggest concern for the Rockets as he is questionable due to an illness. Although he has not missed a game so far, the sudden illness could halt his momentum. He is having a solid year, averaging 18.7 points and nearly five rebounds. Meanwhile, Steven Adams will remain sidelined for his second straight with a knee issue. Like Ingles, he has also not been a major part of his team’s rotation.

Well, the Wolves have already lost one of their two group-stage games. And winning tonight is extremely crucial if they hope to stay in the running for the trophy. Moreover, they will face the Clippers for their final group-stage encounter and it will be a tough challenge considering how impressive James Harden and Co. have been this year. They are 11-8 so far. Sure enough, Wolves fans would be hoping for Ant-Man to produce a heroic performance and get the much-needed win tonight.
But that will not be easy seeing the Rockets’ stacked depth chart:
