“You can tell I’m clearly the favorite at this point,” said Travis Hunter, referring to Deion Sanders’ ‘Kids Rankings.’ “When I’m not involved in the rankings, you just know I’m above everybody.” Ironically, this was right after Coach Prime called the two-way star a “thief,” but instead of taking it to heart, Hunter took the opportunity to become an honorary member of the Sanders clan, naming himself the MVP… much like Shelomi did a month ago.
After going through a rough patch in April this year, when Shelomi transferred from Colorado to Alabama, the father-daughter duo patched things up. In an interview in September, the basketball player confirmed this: “We handled and discussed things behind closed doors, so it’s all good now,” referring to Deion Sanders calling her decision “stupid.” Soon after, Shelomi made a trip to Colorado to attend the Buffaloes vs. Bears game, and she was dressed to impress!
Sporting a t-shirt with a picture of Coach Prime in front, the back was what caught everyone’s attention. It featured Deion Sanders’ ‘Kids Rankings’ and, sure enough, Shelomi’s name was No. 1. You got the message, right? Shelomi was confident that she was the best child in Coach Prime’s eyes among her siblings and half-siblings. But the Buffs head coach gave her a reality check.

After appreciating her outfit on live TV, Deion Sanders posted pictures of Shelomi from the game on Instagram and wrote, “[Shelomi Sanders] thinks she’s #1 in my kids Rankings. I love u, baby, but you’re NOT #1 right now. Your sister [Deiondra Sanders] is because she just had her Lil Baby.” But let’s come back to Travis Hunter and his “roguish” actions that somehow led to him claiming the top spot on Coach Prime’s ‘Kids Rankings’ despite not having Sanders as a last name.
As the Buffaloes defeated Cincinnati on October 26 to improve their record to 6-2 this season, the mood in Boulder was quite celebratory. And it looked like Travis Hunter – who had 9 receptions for 153 yards and 2 touchdowns in the game – made the most of the situation to raid Coach Prime’s sneaker collection. And the head coach documented all of it.
As he entered his office, Sanders saw Hunter carrying around his signature shoe in collaboration with LeBron James – presumably, the Nike LeBron 21 Prime 93, speculated to be released in Summer 2025. “You just gonna come in here and shop, dawg?” Sanders asked, and Hunter quickly replied, “I need shoes, bro.” The 57-year-old questioned, “Why do you need some shoes? You know you have contracts, money…” But the two-way star’s reasoning was simple: Deion wasn’t wearing the sneakers, so why did he need them? “You’re lucky I got two of them,” Sanders remarked.

Coach Prime captioned that post, “Very Roguish @db3_tip #CoachPrime @kingjames,” even telling Travis Hunter in the video, “You know what rogue means? That means you’re a thief.” One comment on the post was particularly eye-catching. It was from none other than Deion’s little princess Shelomi, who wrote, “Wait, those are kinda cute can u send me some ☺️ I hope you had a great day.” Unlike Hunter, she actually asked her father for the shoes instead of bursting into his office and ‘stealing’ them.
But considering Coach Prime had only two pairs of the much-awaited sneakers, it seems unlikely that the Alabama A&M athlete will get one before they’re officially released next year. As for Travis Hunter, he didn’t hesitate to flaunt his new sneakers, which was when he basically called himself the MVP of Deion’s ‘Kids Rankings.’ Coach Prime posted that video on Instagram, too, writing, “@db3_tip said he’s top of the rankings #CoachPrime @kingjames.”
Deion Sanders didn’t say anything to dispute Travis Hunter’s claim, unlike what he did after Shelomi’s bold t-shirt claim. Could this mean that he actually agrees with his two-way star? Be that as it may, Shelomi still wants the best for not just her father but also her brothers.

Shelomi showed her support for Deion Sanders & Co. before their Week 9 game
Since transferring to Alabama, Shelomi Sanders hasn’t been able to make it to her brothers’ games as often as she did last season. But when she returned to Folsom Field for their Week 5 game against the Baylor Bears, she got a treat. Apart from sporting her cheeky t-shirt with the ‘Kids Rankings,’ Shelomi witnessed the Buffaloes win a thriller in overtime.
With two seconds left on the clock, her brother and quarterback Shedeur Sanders threw a Hail Mary pass to LaJohntay Wester for a game-tying touchdown. And in overtime, after Travis Hunter forced a game-winning fumble, the Buffaloes completed a mighty comeback. Since then, Shelomi hasn’t been able to make it back to Colorado. But before they took on the Cincinnati Bearcats last weekend, hoping to return to winning ways, she showed her support on Instagram.

The Buffaloes’ official Instagram account posted a pre-game poster featuring the Sanders brothers – Shilo and Shedeur. The basketball player reposted it on her story, hyping up her siblings as well as the team. In the end, it worked out for the Buffaloes, who won 34-23, with Shedeur Sanders making 25 of 30 pass completions, throwing for 323 yards and 2 touchdowns.
