Mothers will always be mothers. As Jordan Chiles waits to return to UCLA for the 2024-25 NCAA season, the Olympian’s mother Gina seems to have lost all patience for the fans’ jeers. Over the past few months, the Olympian’s mom and family have kept clapping back at trolls who have tried to downplay her Parisian campaign from earlier this year. And even now, Gina’s in no mood to kid around, even more so since her daughter is gearing up to leave again.

Right after the 2024 Games, Chiles teased that she would soon be seen among the Bruins gymnasts for the upcoming season, which she confirmed soon after. With that, some planning was in order. Despite all the work to get Jordan ready for her collegiate return, it seems like Gina still isn’t completely over what the former had to endure in recent times.

On November 24, Gina Chiles took to the Facebook group Jordan Chiles Leo Collection to make an announcement. “With Jordan leaving to UCLA soon we are getting her packed up. She has a ton of leos. My plan (helping her) is to get them listed,” wrote the Olympic gymnast’s mother in the social media update. With that, he also notified that fans could purchase signed leotards that are en route to be rejected. However, her stern tone couldn’t be overlooked in the post.

In the process, she even took a dig at the fans who might have skeptical thoughts in their minds about the whole deal. “I’ve done this before for her this way & EVERYONE received their Leo. I don’t have interest nor would I scam,” snapped Jordan’s mom without holding back. Gina also mentioned that the pricey signed leotards are being sold because Jordan wants to “purge” them to get the “grifters comments” to stop. She also highlighted that the prices of the gymnastics merch could be cut down if the fans are interested in unsigned products.

Last week, the senior Chiles posted in the same group that the Olympic champ’s wardrobe needed cleaning out and hence they would sell some of her stuff to make room. Gina also stated that the leotards could be shipped by the time of Christmas so that fans could get their hands on something special this year. Now that the old stuff is on its way out, let’s hope the extra space gives Jordan the motivation to fill up her cupboard once again this NCAA season.

After the team gold, Chiles won bronze in the individual floor exercise finals as well, only to be handed a startling directive by the IOC only five days later. Citing that her inquiry was raised beyond the 1-minute mark, the CAS (Court for Arbitration of Sports) notified that Jordan needed to hand over her Olympic medal to Romania’s Ana Barbosa. The news was a blow to the guts and the fans raised a clamor. Despite gymnastics legends like Nadia Comaneci urging the IOC to reconsider, Chiles had to do what she was told.

During all this time, her family stood firm in her corner, claiming that it was unfair to the athlete. That didn’t stop the trolls from sneering at the WCC gymnast, but Gina was quick to shut down anyone who dared cross paths with her daughter. “She has more medals than you have teeth,” Jordan’s mom reminded the people who tried to justify her misfortune.
