How is Thanksgiving celebrated in your household? This week could be a perfect time for Deion Sanders and Colorado to reflect on their season after their humbling loss to Kansas on Saturday. But for Shedeur Sanders, an inconvenience looms ahead of Thursday’s event. The 22-year-old Buffs QB is one of those kids who remember Thanksgiving in two phases.

Want to know how Thanksgiving looks like in the Sanders’ household? Shedeur Sanders exposed that in a new YouTube episode on 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders on November 27. To everyone’s curiosity, he began with “BD or AD?” You know what it means? “Before divorce or after divorce.” Then he answered both anyway. This is what he said of phase one, “Before we was all one big happy family man. Everything was fun. We had the turkeys, we had everything.”

Torn by the rift between his parents, the second phase is sad. But Shedeur Sanders tinged it with humor in an artful way. He continued, “Now after divorce, I got to make sure I don’t eat too much at dad’s house sometimes, don’t eat too much at mom’s house. So I got to make sure I balance out my stomach.” Then he added, “A lot of kids whose parents aren’t together that has to have two Thanksgiving, y’all understand what I’m talking about.”

Deion Sanders married Pilar Sanders in 1999, a year after his divorce from his first wife, Carolyn Chambers, the mother of Deiondra Sanders and Deion Sanders Jr. They had Shilo Sanders, Shedeur, and Shelomi Sanders before their divorce in 2015 on the grounds of dispute and toxicity. But it’s been nearly a decade since the youngest Sanders son experienced that bitter transition. And the way he joked about having two feasts shows that everyone is content with the way life is turning out to be. Thanksgiving should engross Shedeur enough to forget about his plight in the last game and reinvigorate him for the final regular season game.

Shedeur Sanders had a tough weekend

Colorado messed up their playoff chances with their last heartbreaking 37-21 upset loss against Kansas. But it was Shedeur Sanders who took the biggest blows. In the second half, he suffered a hit from Kansas DE Dean Miller that could’ve been fatal. Surprisingly, there was no penalty for the defensive player. The dirty play led to calls of ejection for the Jayhawks DE.

Following this eye-raising assessment, Shedeur Sanders got into a minor scuffle where he was seen shoving a referee. Many feared it could lead to consequences from the higher ups but Colorado’s beat writer Brian Howell cleared the suspense. He reported that there will be no consequences for the incident as it has been “handled internally with CU.” An escape from suspension gives Colorado the chance to still improve their record to 9-3 in the regular season against Oklahoma State.
