Another week, another dub for the Dallas Cowboys. The America’s team owner took the spotlight once again and was a bit happy this time. After all, this is the first game he’s won at home this season. That too, on Thanksgiving. Looks like the owner is finally content with what’s going on at the quarterback position.

Jones got to celebrate Thanksgiving with the fans at the AT&T Stadium but was “really proud of” his team. Dallas’ momentum started dying down in the late third quarter when the team got to scoring 27 points. But in the end, a win is all that matters, and the billionaire was proud of how Cooper Rush handled the game.

“Really proud of those guys. We got a little tired there at the end, but that’s what you do. Give that kind of effort, but really thought we played well enough today to win it. Proud of a lot of the individuals out there that really stood out, like what Rush did at quarterback. You’re going to have to relax,” Jones told the media after the game.

Rush had a decent game tonight, but they were playing against the Giants, so we really can’t tell whether he’s improved or not. But it’s Thanksgiving so we’d just let Jerry Jones feel the gratitude for the win. Anyway, the good thing about Cooper Rush in the TNF game was that he didn’t throw a pick or take a sack. Instead, he did throw a 2-yard TD pass to Brandin Cooks. People nearly forgot about Dak Prescott, who suffered a partial tendon avulsion in the game against the Falcons.

But coming back to Rush, the QB delivered on 21 of his 36 passes over 195 yards. However, Rico Dowdle and DeMarvion Overshown were the stars of the Thanksgiving game. They helped the Cowboys maintain a winning streak, after all.

Jerry Jones hopes can be thankful for the win streak

This is the second game that the Cowboys won in a row. The last time they won was against the Washington Commanders (34-26) and this one against the divisional rivals, the Giants (27-20). But let’s talk about Rico Dowdle and DeMarvion Overshown. The Cowboys linebacker had a flashy pick-six with New York leading 7-6 in the second quarter.

Overshown interrupted Drew Lock’s pass caught the deflected ball in the air and returned it to the end zone, extending the lead to 7-13. That move might have set the Dallas Cowboys up for success. Speaking of success, Rico Dowdle scored a TD on a 4-yard run, moments after Brandin Cooks’ touchdown.

Dowdle was the leading Cowboys rusher with 22 carries, 112 yards and a touchdown. The whole Giants offense rushed for 116 yards, so that’s quite a comparison. Well, unlike the chaotic New York Giants, the Cowboys have something to be thankful about. With this, the Dallas Cowboys have elevated themselves to 5-7. But if they lose two more games, they might be ruled out of the playoff hunt this year.
